Clannad is now fan-translated and playable on the Vita (Clannad's localization is based on the Sekai project's official release on Steam). Furthermore, AIR (by VisualArts/KEY) is also now playable on the Vita in English natively. The patch for AIR is based on a PSP Fan Translation project.

The games are purchasable on the Vita from the Japanese store, and you can apply the English patch to your purchased copy of the game. I also own the games physically and confirm that they work on the physically purchased copy too.

Gunman Chronicles is NOT working on NEW Xash3D FWGS Engine, because 'dlls/gunman_psvita_armv7hf.so' is missing. The VITA data pack is missing the SO loader. The same for Counter Strike 1.6 and all the other games to.

Gunman Chronicles is working and loading over old Vita engine vitaXash3D v.4 fix version, but its incorrect working, because the ''suprx'' data Vita file is also missing. But still somehow working here, with music.

Note A : New version do not have anymore the Dosbox Pure core, only SVN core still there. Pure has best settings. Latest from 2023-11-06. Download fast as possible older RA build versions, otherwise they get delete after some weeks.

Note B : Testing Quake 1 final version and Beta copy, both was working with ~30% framerate unplayable. But textures and music was perfect working.

Note C : Windows 3.1 is working with DosBox Pure, plus complete install. Windows 95, the complete install is working, but the DosBox version is not compatible for W95 (to old).

Shadowcaster; Full FIX DosBox Pure Core with Music and Sound : -install.exe and install the full game -install menu Configure Sound -press L3 for virtual keyboard (use up and down and enter) -set SoundBlaster Only (NOT SoundBlaster + MIDI) -stay on 220 audio port, audio irq 7, 1 dma channel -press Y for test sampler, or N to go back to install menu -use shadow.bat, start game

DO NOT select MIDI Output frontend MIDI driver in RA ! This is a wrong information, my mistake, sorry. Note: RA DosBox Core has a framerate drop down bug, read DosBox topic for FIX.

New Result: Full working now and very good framerate, it should be done here. DosBox is very powerfull here.

FIX for 'framerate drop down after second start' =

  • start Corridor 7 the second time where the framerate go down to 70% for unknown reason.
  • go to Core Options
  • Manage Core
  • use RESET OPTIONS
  • close Content
  • start Corridor 7 again, FIX Fullspeed, must setup all again each time.

NOTE: this is NOT a full FIX, there are some Settings that need restart effect, this will currently not work on this way. but we must not delete DOSBox-pure.opt over vitashell anymore, make it more easy.

Theoretical possible ->

The DosBox RA Core has a Pentium 100mhz setting, in this fact its possible to install Windows 95 and load Necrodome over there. But Pentium emulation is very slow on the Vita currently and starting a second build over win95 is a cpu killer. In the past I had full install Windows 3.11 on Wii and PS3 and it was working very slow. So its only theoretical on this way possible, but would have 1 or 2 FPS not more. The best is full Win95 emulation, this would open million doors for us withput porting.

I will try to install Windows 3.11 and see what it looks like on the VITA system. But Win95 can be very complicated since we need extra boot floppy disc and cdrom in same time.

Install Data Files -> CDRom version need Install files, otherwise save files dont work. RA will create ZIP file for install files on ux0:data/retroarch (converted), otherwise the mounted ISO works as standalone without save files. Result = WORKING

Found the Problem ''framerate drop down after second start'' ! My gosh.

  • delete folder in ux0:data/retroarch
  • install fresh 2023-10-02_RetroArch_piglet.vpk
  • start RA in first time and start also in first time Corridor 7, use all options = 99% - 100% framerate on 386 setting
  • close the game and start the game again with same options = 70% framerate on 386 setting, bug corrupt

When Corridor 7 gets first time started, RA will create a new retroarch folder in ux0:data/retroarch. In the same time it will also create a file with the name DOSBox-pure.opt in -> ux0:data/retroarch/config/DOSBox-pure/DOSBox-pure.opt. When I delete DOSBox-pure.opt file, after that RA will give me again full 99% - 100%. In this fact I must not delete the full retroarch folder with include save files. So save files are ok and dont get lost anymore.

Result + Found : file DOSBox-pure.opt is corrupt and lose 25% framerate when use second start ! Need highly FIX and than its done. Otherwise do it so, that RA dont create the file DOSBox-pure.opt.
